OUR History
Founded in 1993, the Canadian Model & Talent Convention (CMTC) was created to offer aspiring models and talent the right time, place, and platform to gain experience and showcase their potential to leading career-makers in the modelling and entertainment industries.
For over 30 years, CMTC has helped aspiring models, actors, singers, and dancers overcome four key challenges often faced when pursuing a professional career:
1. Access to Industry Professionals
The most critical element in launching a successful career is meeting the right people. CMTC brings together legitimate and reputable agents, managers, casting directors, and producers—professionals who can recognize potential and provide representation and opportunities on a national or international level.
2. Industry Education
Many new faces entering the industry don’t know where to begin or who to trust. CMTC offers access to expert knowledge through seminars and workshops led by top professionals and talent representatives. Attendees learn about the skills, tools, and industry insights necessary to navigate a career in modelling, acting, singing, or dance.

Pursuing a career in the entertainment industry is an investment—but it shouldn’t cost thousands just to explore your potential. Unlike traveling individually to major markets such as New York, Los Angeles, Paris, or Milan—or attending similar U.S. conventions that often charge over $5,000 USD—CMTC offers an affordable, all-in-one experience. The base registration fee covers access to a premier platform where attendees can connect with the world’s top modelling and talent professionals, all in one place.
4. Geographic Barriers
Most aspiring talent don’t live in cities where industry professionals are based. CMTC eliminates this barrier by bringing a global network of scouts, agents, and casting experts to Canada. Testimonials
Statement of Acknowledgement of Traditional Land
We wish to acknowledge the land on which the CMTC event operates. For thousands of years it has been the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Anishinabek Nations, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This territory was the subject of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy and the Ojibwe and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
