Only two short months after attending CMTC, David Kohlsmith from Toronto, Ontario booked his first TV commercial. Four months later he became a full ACTRA member and within six months he booked his first role in a feature film.
David has appeared alongside award-winning Canadian screen icon Kim Coates (FX’s Sons of Anarchy) in the award-winning theatre production, Jerusalem. David has appeared in TV commercials for clients such as Ikea, Honda, Folgers, MADD Canada, and SpinMaster. Among other credits to his name, David has appeared in the Netflix original film The Christmas Chronicles, as well as The Prodigy, a horror-thriller starring Orange Is the New Black’s, Taylor Schilling. David plays the role of Jamie Quincy in the series SurrealEstate on the SYFY network starring Tim Rozon, Sarah Levy and Adam Korson.
He portrayed young Charles Lee Ray in the “Chucky” series, which premiered on the SYFY network in October 2021.
David landed the role of “Yanek” in the upcoming feature film, “The Boy in the Woods.” The movie is based on the memoir of the same name written by Maxwell Smart. Among a talented cast, David will be sharing the screen with Jett Klyne (WandaVision, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) and award-winning Canadian actor, Christopher Heyerdahl (Under the Banner of Heaven, Them) in the film.
David’s favourite booking so far was his first-ever feature film role in the highly anticipated DC movie Shazam! David played the young version of Billy Batson in the feature film.
