CMTC alumni actress Jessica Lord is best known for starring in the international hit series Find Me in Paris, which began streaming on Disney+.
Born in Rochdale, Manchester, England, Jessica started ballroom dancing at the age of four. After her family relocated outside of Toronto, Canada, she began training in multiple styles, including ballet and hip hop. With no representation, Jessica attended CMTC in 2015, where she impressed numerous scouts and agents, securing a Los Angeles – based manager. Shortly after, she joined the roster of a Toronto talent agency.
Jessica made her television debut as a series regular on Family Channel’s popular series The Next Step. When the creators of Find Me in Paris launched a worldwide search for their lead actress, Jessica’s acting talent combined with her ballet and hip hop training made her stand out. She ultimately won the role, beating out actors from around the world. The series went on to premiere across top international outlets, including Disney Channel (France and Italy), Hulu and NBC Universal Kids (USA), CBC Gem (Canada), ZDF (Germany), and ABC (Australia).
Additional acting credits include the iconic series Grey’s Anatomy, the film Murder at Hollow Creek, and appearances in the television series Party of Five, Ransom, and Paranormal Witness. Today, Jessica lives and works in Los Angeles. She starred in the Lifetime movie Christmas in the Spotlight, a holiday film inspired by the relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Jessica continues to be an important part of the CMTC community. She returned in 2017 to visit contestants and guest judge the Dance Competition, served as a CMTC Embody Kindness Campaign Ambassador in support of Kids Help Phone in 2018 and 2019, and came back as a surprise alumni guest in both 2024 and 2025. At CMTC, she has worked with talent ahead of the acting competitions, guest judged the Dance Competition, and delivered a moving speech at the Saturday evening Awards Ceremony.
