With help from our thorough, educational, and adrenaline-pumping experience, they received their moment to shine before the industry’s top career makers, scouts, and representatives.
After attending CMTC in May 2018, Jasmine Julien from Welland, Ontario signed with agencies in Paris, Milan, Chicago, Miami, Toronto, and LA. Shortly after CMTC, she was flown to Chicago to develop her portfolio. She then traveled to New York City and signed with Women Model Management who she first met at CMTC. Over the past year Jasmine has completed modelling contracts in Tokyo, Paris, and Milan.
Career highlights for Jasmine thus far include walking for Dolce & Gabbana during Milan Fashion Week and walking for top designer Sid Neigum during Toronto Fashion Week.
Ottawa native and Rwandan beauty Brenda Mutoni got her start in the world of national and international modelling at CMTC. Since attending the convention, Brenda has signed with industry leaders and worked in markets such as London, Paris, Milan, South Africa, Toronto, Montreal, and Seoul. Brenda has walked the runway during New York Fashion Week and other shows for designers like John Galliano, Alexandra Moura, Giuseppe di Morabito and Stella Jean Roma. Advertising campaigns to her credit include Aldo, Moroccan Oil, Nordstrom, La Vie En Rose, Simons, Browns Shoes, and Marshalls. She has also been featured in LouLou Magazine.
CMTC alumni Renee Mittelstaedt from Ottawa, Ontario can be seen in advertising campaigns for Coca-Cola, Nars Cosmetics, FabFitFun, Lululemon, Urban Outfitters, Puma, Aeoropostale, Yellow Shoes, Target, TJMaxx, Adidas, Garage, G-Star, Shoppers Drug Mart, Aldo Shoes, and Aerie. Renee has also worked with Call It Spring Shoes, Belk and Nike. She has been featured in LouLou Magazine, Seventeen Magazine, British Airways Horizons In-Flight Magazine, Women’s Health Magazine South Africa, Nylon Magazine, and Cosmopolitan. Renee appears in Beyoncé’s video for “Pretty Hurts” as one of the models on stage.
Despite her busy modeling career, Renee simultaneously pursued an education at McGill University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree (majoring in Sociology and minoring in Communication Studies).
Today, Renee lives and works as a model in New York City and Montreal.
Since attending CMTC Kaatje Kempe from London, Ontario has completed international modeling contracts in Singapore and China. She has walked the runway nationally and internationally for top fashion events such as Shanghai Fashion Week and Toronto Fashion Week. Kaatje graced the cover of a Shanghai Fashion Week special edition of Vogue Magazine. She has also been featured in magazines such as FRUK, Atlas Magazine, Borealis, Schon, Pin Prestige, Teenage, FAJO, and BLOWE. She has appeared in campaigns for clients such as Old Navy, BMW and ClearLife. Kaatje is currently living in New York City where she is signed with a top modelling agency. She made her New York City debut last fall walking for top designers during New York Fashion Week.
Since attending CMTC, Emily Van Raay from Chatham, Ontario has become an international success, working in markets such as Paris, Milan, London, Hamburg, Athens, Tokyo, Miami, and New York. She has completed major modeling campaigns and worked for clients such as Cosmopolitan, Fashion Magazine, The Kit, Elle Magazine, Marie Claire, Glamour, Dior, L’oreal, Madame, Seventeen, and Clarins. Notable advertising campaigns to her credit include Roger and Gallet, Garnier Fructis, Mother Denim, Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty, Dynamite, Hudson’s Bay, and Old Navy.
Emily currently calls New York City her home. She is the founder of Models for Wellness, a compilation of contributors with varied backgrounds and educations in health. They are defined as: bloggers, health coaches, yoga teachers, healthy eating junkies, and entrepreneurs in positive living. Their main mission is to help to deconstruct what it means to be “healthy” while inspiring others to join them with healthy living and happiness.
Emily is currently pursuing another passion: acting. She landed a lead role in the horror/thriller film, Hurt. The film recently premiered in New York City.
Ivy Matheson from Seabright, Nova Scotia launched her modeling career at CMTC. Since then, she has fulfilled several modeling contracts in markets such as New York, Australia, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, Osaka, Toronto, and Los Angeles. Ivy has completed jobs for major magazine covers, editorials, print campaigns, and television commercials. Ivy now lives in Los Angeles and is branching out into the world of acting; her first role was in the Hallmark movie Autumn Dreams.
Film productions to her credit include Only Humans, Under the Silver Lake, The Lears, Second Chance, Teen Driver, and Autumn Dreams. Ivy is also featured in four of Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes’ music videos: Stitches, Aftertaste, Never Be Alone, and Life of the Party!
Ivy recently wrapped filming for the series ‘I Would Have Kissed You’ and the upcoming film ‘The Wrong Tutor’. Both projects are currently in post-production.
Connor Kalopsis signed with a talent manager at CMTC and traveled to Los Angeles shortly afterwards to begin his acting career. Within days after arriving in L.A., Connor was booked to appear in the feature film Bad Words starring Jason Bateman. He also appeared in Jimmy Kimmel Live which was cast by a casting director that attended CMTC.
Connor is most known for his role as Ethan Sanderson in The Grinder, a legal comedy television series starring Rob Lowe and Fred Savage. You may also recognize Connor for his recurring role as Chase Jennings in Days of Our Lives. The young actor has also had parts in NCIS: Los Angeles, The McCarthys, Sam and Cat featuring Ariana Grande, and The League.
Connor can be seen in the upcoming American multi-camera family sitcom Outmatched. Connor plays the role of Brian in the series, alongside Jason Biggs and Maggie Lawson. The series is set to premier on Fox in January 2020.
Claire Dawe-McCord from Ottawa, Ontario launched her national and international modeling career after attending CMTC. The Ottawa native has signed with industry leaders in Toronto, Montreal, Singapore, Tokyo, and New York City. Claire has appeared on the cover of Wedding Bells Magazine and Mariage Quebec.
Claire opened up to The Business Model about her experience modeling in Tokyo and what it’s like working in the bustling metropolis:
“Despite the fact I had done some research and had spoken to models who had worked there before, I didn’t really grasp the scale of Tokyo. There are hundreds of models from all over the world vying for the same jobs. That’s why you need to have a good agency both at home and in Tokyo supporting you. You also need to find a positive way to stand out to casting directors” (Claire Dawe-McCord, The Business Model, 2014).
Jazmin Katz from Ottawa, Ontario has taken the international modelling world by storm since attending CMTC. She can be seen in the first-ever National Canadian Brand Campaign for Nordstrom. Jazmin has signed with major modelling agencies and worked in markets such as New York, Osaka, Milan, London, Germany, Toronto, and Montreal. While modelling internationally, Jazmin has worked alongside supermodels Karlie Kloss and Coco Rocha. She can also be seen in an advertising campaign for Bluenotes, Nikon, Pinch Cosmetics, and Mayfair Mall.
Print work to her credit includes the cover of WedLuxe as well as Livid Magazine, Teen Vogue, Thought Catalogue, Elegant Magazine,and Sapere Magazine.
